This slushie is the perfect way to cool off on a hot day. Made with just strawberries and pears, it’s naturally sweetened, has no refined sugar, and it’s easy to make using the Ninja Creami!
Ingredients You Need
- Pear halves (1 can, 15 ounces): These provide natural sweetness and a smooth texture without overwhelming the flavor like dates.
- Fresh strawberries (1 cup): The show’s star, giving the slushie its vibrant flavor. You can use frozen, but it may not be as sweet.
- Water: To achieve the desired slushy consistency.
Instructions for Deluxe Ninja Creami
- Start by blending the pear halves (including the juice) and fresh strawberries until smooth.
- Pour the blended mixture into the Ninja Creami pint, ensuring that it does not exceed the lower max fill line on the Deluxe pint.
- Freeze the pint in a flat area of your freezer for at least 24 hours.
- Once frozen, remove the pint from the freezer and add water up to the fill line to create a slushie consistency.
- Insert the pint into the Ninja Creami machine, twist to secure, and select the ‘slushy’ setting to process.
- After processing, check the consistency. If it’s too thick, add more water and re-spin using the ‘milkshake’ setting for a lighter texture.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your refreshing strawberry slushie!
Can I Make this in an Original Ninja Creami? Yes, You can!
- Blend the pear halves and strawberries as described above.
- Pour half of the mixture into the original Ninja Creami pint.
- Freeze for 24 hours.
- Process on the ‘sorbet’ setting, then add water or a non-dairy milk to the mixture and process again on the ‘milkshake’ setting for a smooth texture.
- Serve and enjoy!
Tips for the Perfect Slushie
- For a slightly different flavor, try using applesauce instead of pears.
- Experiment with adding a splash of sparkling water for a fizzy twist!
- Remember, always taste your mixture before freezing to ensure it’s sweet enough for your liking.
Can I use frozen strawberries instead of fresh ones?
Yes! Frozen strawberries can be used, just let them thaw a bit before blending.
Can I use other fruits instead of strawberries?
Absolutely! You can experiment with other fruits like raspberries or blueberries. Just remember that the flavor and sweetness will vary.
What if my slushie is too thick?
If your slushie is too thick, simply add a little more water, and re-spin. Adjust until you reach your desired consistency!
How do I clean the Ninja Creami after use?
The Ninja Creami is easy to clean! Just remove the pint and blade assembly, rinse them with warm soapy water, and you’re good to go!
Can I make this in advance?
Yes! You actually have to prepare the mixture and freeze it ahead of time. Just remember to let it sit out for a few minutes before spinning if it’s too solid.
