Let’s Talk About My Favorite Air Fryers and Accessories
There are so many air fryers to choose from and more are coming on the market everyday.
I’m going to talk about a few that I’ve tried out so far, but know that these are not your only choices.
The Air Fryers and Accessories listed here are ones that I’ve tried so far, but more come out everyday.
I recommend to keep your eye out for the Amazon warehouse deals on air fryers. They are most used, returns, or refurbished models, but they are a bargain.
How Big Should My Air Fryer Be?
My first air fryer was a 3.7 quart Go Wise and I’m still using it to this day! It’s a great size for a 2 person household. I sent my friend a larger Go Wise model that’s 5.8 quarts, it’s a great size for 4. I just got myself a Red Go Wise 5.8 quart air fryer and it’s even bigger than the Phillips extra large.
Phillips models are usually more expensive but they have a few perks that I like a lot. They don’t measure by quarts though, but by pounds of food.
The white Phillips model above (HD9641/56) holds 1.8 pounds and is good for 1 or 2 people. If you want to cook a large quantity of fries, you’ll need to cook them in multiple batches.
Please note that if you get this model from Williams Sonoma it has a removable top screen that is great for cooking kale chips and other light foods that can fly up and burn on the upper heat element.
I also have an XL Phillips air fryer that I got at Amazon warehouse deals for about half price, but if there aren’t any there, you can find it full price on Amazon.
The Phillips that I have are all digital, but you can get older models with dials in all sizes cheaper. I would just warm you to not pay more for these older models. In some stores they cost the same as better models.
Since I started cooking in the Air Fryer the number of brands and models have exploded. I couldn’t even count the number I saw at the International Housewares Show this year.
Many of these are made by the same manufacturer, but done with private label branding.
There are also a few combination convection toaster oven and air fryer like the Breville model above that Chef AJ swears by. I have the Cuisinart model myself and love that you can cook even more food at one time in them.
At the International Housewares show there were dozens of this style in smaller sizes. I think these will be showing up on Amazon and in stores soon.
My Latest Recommendations Over At Amazon
You can find many other air fryers on Amazon and the number keeps growing!
You Can Bake in Your Air Fryer?
Once you have your air fryer you’ll quickly find yourself want to bake in it. It is a convection oven after all! Don’t forget that you probably have some ramekins or mini baking dishes in your cabinet that you can use. Also tea cups work great too if they are oven-safe.
The size of your air fryer will determine what size ramekins you get. I get a ton at thrift stores and even sell some in my Etsy store when I find extras.
There are many collections of air fryer accessories you can get on Amazon, but the one above is from Go Wise and has a rack for toast and that’s why I just ordered it.
If you don’t want a whole set, here’s an air fryer baking pan with handle that’s sold by its self.
Air Fry Without All the Mess!
While I’m not keen on those plastic slow cooker liners, I love these parchment liners for air fryers. It makes clean up a breeze and is great to use with battered foods.
You Do Need a Sprayer Accessory for Your Air Fryer
One more thing you need is a refillable spray bottle for oil, or aquafaba if you’re oil-free.
Be sure to leave your favorite air fryers and accessories in the comments below. And tell us if there are any you’d avoid too.

I have a BLACK+DECKER Countertop Convection Toaster Oven, Silver, CTO6335S….will it do the same thing as an Air Fryer?
Kathy Hester says
It might work, but the 2 countertop convection ovens that say they are also air fryers have a special basket too.
Barbara Bingnear says
I wonder if the toast accessory will work with your French toast recipe. I think I would get the set just for that – if it works.
Kathy Hester says
I just ordered on, so I’ll let you know!

I bought the Nuwave 10qt Air Fryer in Black from Bed Bath and Beyond. It was a good price and worked well — for the first 5 and a half months! Then the heating element died. Not a good deal After All. Bed Bath and Beyond took it back, returning to me the full purchase price — good return policy!
Stay away from the Nuwave 10 Qt Air Fryer — it’s NOT built to last.
Jeanne says
Can these go on a countertop underneath a cabinet? I’m wondering about the heat factor. Thanks!
Kathy Hester says
They can be stored there, but when using it move away from the wall. If there’s enough room above the air fryer you can leave it under, but that depends on the model.
Tamara says
I wouldn’t. I read online if these aren’t vented properly could catch fire or over heat.
To ventilate it properly? When using it? You should not put it under any cabinet s. For it to vent properly? You should pull it out in the middle of your airspace & never operate it on top of the stove.
Tamara says
Pull it out in the middle of your work space. Air space a typo. Sorry.

Hello Kathy, I bought several accessories for my Cogyna 5 quart air fryer. Have to confess, I have never used most of them! I too love the parchment liners. I bought the silicone liners; they are difficult to clean. Hoping to someday get the Breville!
Corinne Kaelin says
Hi Kathy, I was recommended your “Vegan Cooking in Your Air Fryer” book and would love to purchase it. However, we “only” have the air fryer that’s included in the Breville Smart Oven Air. Can I still use it for your recipes? TIA for your time and help with this!
Kathy Hester says
You can make the recipes in your Breville. Some of the timings may be slightly off, but there’s a range in the recipe due to all the different kinds of air fryers.
Corinne Kaelin says
Wow, thank you very much for the speedy reply! I’m going to order the book right now then.

I’m not a fan of teflon non stick anything, so I went with a Ninja since it has a ceramic coated basket. It’s great! I use it every day to either cook food or reheat.
Katie says
So many good ideas!!! I love using my air fryer, but clean up can be a pain! Do you think it would be okay to cut my own parchment paper to make a liner for inside our air fryer? I see that they make liners you can buy specifically for air fryers – maybe they’re safer than just regular parchment paper?
Kathy Hester says
Yes, but poke holes in them to let the air flow through. You can buy dumpling papers to use too: https://amzn.to/37WpRk8
