Rose’s Dreamsicle Protein Ice Cream
Ingredients
- 1 packed cup orange segments make sure seeds and peel are removed
- 1/2 cup non-dairy milk of choice
- 1/4 cup mashed ripe banana
- 1/4 cup silken tofu or use okara
- 1 scoop vanilla or plain protein powder Rose recommends plain Compliment Protein powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract or 1/2 teaspoon vanilla powder
Instructions
- Blend all the ingredients, then add to a Ninja Creami pint.
- Freeze for 24 hours. Spin on the light ice cream setting.
- If it’s still powdery, use the respin and add a few tablespoons of non-dairy milk if needed.

I love creamsicles so this sounds delicious. I’m not a fan of protein powders though. How will the texture change if I leave it out. Would it be necessary to add some additional banana, silken tofu or a few cashews to keep the texture creamy?

The oranges and tofu thicken it fine, so I’d recommend that you just leave the powder out.
