It always warms my heart to see vegan options pop up in the national arena. Even better, I love seeing this soy-free, gluten-free and non-dairy frozen vegan yogurt right in my own backyard. I’m hoping this is showing up in airports because it would be awesome to have an option there too.
They released a chocolate flavor first and now there’s a vanilla one too. My favorite was the vanilla and it would make a great base for some fresh berries and slivered almonds. Cheryl made a sundae with chocolate syrup and nuts. The chocolate reminds me of a fudgesicle and is pretty tasty too.
The texture is thick and it melts slower than regular frozen yogurt which will be a bonus once it gets hot again.
The vanilla I tried is from the store in Chapel Hill – as you can see they weren’t too interested in making it pretty, but the one from the store in Durham made it look picture perfect, and they have a toppings bar that is only 99 cents! Guess which one I will be going back to next time?

If you actively avoid sugar or some of the other ingredients included then this is not for you. However it’s the first dairy-free, soy-free and gluten-free frozen yogurt that’s available widely and I plan on stopping in to support them in keeping vegans and people with allergies in mind. Hopefully more national chains will do the same and we’ll have even more choices!
