First let me apologize for my blog malfunction Monday. Yosef was sick so I unscheduled the post, but somehow it still got emailed to everyone who subscribes to Healthy Slow Cooking. Sorry if you tried to go to a page that wasn’t on the blog. But this one is here – I promise! (Hopefully the internet will not take that as a challenge…)

Slow Cooker Lavender Pear Sauce

You can make plain pear sauce if you’re not a fan of floral flavors or add in spices like cinnamon or cardamom.

Slow Cooker Lavender Rose Pear Sauce
soy-free, gluten-free, oil-free

**Please note that this recipe uses a 1 1/2 to 2 quart slow cooker. You can double or triple and use a larger slow cooker.**

  •  3 cups pears, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon culinary lavender
  • 1/2 teaspoon rosewater
  • sweetener of choice, to taste (I used 1/4 teaspoon Nu-Stevia)

Add the pears and lavender to your slow cooker and cook on low 7 to 9 hours.

Stir in rosewater then taste. Add sweetener if needed until it’s just the way you like it. You can also just use only the lavender or rosewater instead of the combination.

(If the pears are very ripe they will already be pretty sweet so you can use less, but if they are under-ripe you’ll need to use more.)
