This recipe gets it’s name from the heirloom bean that it’s made with. You can see some cool pics over at Rancho Gordo, and while you’re there you can order some for your own experiments. They are my favorite place to find new heirloom beans, even if you’re just window shopping.
These beans are shaped like tiny red and white speckled footballs. They make the perfect broth so I usually cook them without alot of extra veggies or seasonings. They shine all on their own.
I will be announced each stop on the tour so stay tuned for more amazing bloggers. There will be some giveaways this month too so make sure to check HealthySlowCooking.com often. I’ll even put up a few new summer recipes to keep you entertained.
My third book, Vegan Slow Cooking for Two, comes out this September and is available for pre-order on Amazon today for only $10.31. If you pre-order now you will get the lowest price between now and when the book releases!
